Take a Trip to Noir City

Calling all Noir lovers – you’ve got a ten-day date with your favorite tough guys and femme fatales at Noir City: Hollywood – The 19th Annual Los Angeles Festival of Film Noir.

Presented by the Egyptian theater, the American Cinematheque, and the Film Noir Foundation, L.A.’s longest-running film noir festival will showcase favorites, those rarely seen, and some obscure films that have never been screened before. These classic noirs will be shown as double bills to reflect the movie-going experience as it was: each “A” major studio picture will be paired with a shorter “B” movie.

Compiled by Eddie Muller, Alan K. Rode, and Gwen Deglise, the series will feature such notable noirs as “This Gun for Hire,” “Lady on a Train,” and “The Big Heat,” along with “Ministry of Fear,” a selection of the prestigious Criterion Collection.

Noir City: Hollywood – The 19th Annual Los Angeles Festival of Film Noir begins Friday, March 24, and ends on Sunday, April 2. For movie times and tickets, call (323) 466-3456.
