Four Fabulous and Fun Events

It may be January, but you can still keep the holiday spirit going with these four fabulously fun events. First, don’t miss “Photo Ark,” showing through January 13 at the Annenberg Space for Photography. Author, photographer, and National Geographic contributor Joel Sartore is exhibiting 100 large prints of some of the planet’s most threatened species. Next, don’t despair if you didn’t get much of a holiday on ice. You can still skate at two places right here in L.A., and both will maintain the ice through January 21. Check out the ice rink at downtown’s Pershing Square.

You can glide peacefully amongst the cityscape while imagining a cold and snowy day. Plus, it’s close to a metro stop! Also, hit the ICE at Santa Monica – all 8,000 square feet of it. This full-service outdoor rink also features a DJ, a café, lockers, and even a small kiddie rink for the little ones. Lastly, come out to Monterey Park on January 26-27 to ring in the Year of the Pig at the Chinese New Year Festival. Folk art, food (over 50 booths), and firecrackers will accompany the dragon and lion dances and additional performances.
