Get Your Irish On

Time to wear green, watch the parades, and hit the block parties, but be sure to save a little time for some of the additional activities listed here. First, don’t miss the Antaeus Theatre Company’s performance of “The Cripple of Inishmaan” at Glendale’s Performing Arts Center. Showing through March 11 and written by Martin McDonagh (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”) this unambiguously Irish play is a tale of a man with dreams of stardom and a longing for the town beauty. Next, check out the Mar Vista Artwalk. Held every first Thursday through November, this quarterly themed event features colorful murals, musicians, performers, shops, galleries, food trucks, and artists at work.

Lastly, it doesn’t have to be Saint Patrick’s Day for you to cap off your day with one of the best Irish coffees in the L.A. area. There are many fabulous local bars and pubs for these hot concoctions, so here a few to get you started: Casey's Irish Pub, Big Bar, The Pikey, and for dessert with your coffee, head over to 189 by Dominique Ansel for one of their divine Irish Cream Cookie Shots.
