L.A. Lights Up

Every year, the neighborhoods and attractions of the city of Los Angeles and its surrounds are transformed with exquisite ornaments and millions of colorful holiday lights. From the zoo to Newport Beach and all points in between, you’ll find some of the most elaborate and dazzling Christmas light displays in the country. Listed here are a few of our favorite must-sees. For starters, check out Candy Cane Lane at Lubao and Oxnard Streets in Woodland Hills, Christmas Tree Lane and Balian House in Altadena, the Sleepy Hollow Christmas Lights Extravaganza in Torrance, and the Venice Canal bridges along with its whimsical Venice boat parade.

Also, both the Marina Del Rey Boat Parade and the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade feature 75-100 holiday-bedecked vessels and are always two of the area’s most popular events. At the L.A. Zoo Lights at Griffith Park, you can view the reindeer, sit for a photo with Santa, and board a Griffith Park Train for the Holiday Light Festival Train Ride. And, don’t forget the time-honored tradition of Holiday Time at Disneyland, with magically made-over rides and shows, and the elegant displays on Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
