One Cool Summer: Movies at Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Join us for the ultimate L.A. summer ritual and movie experience! From 1960s Criterion Collection selections to fan favorites of the 1990s, this season’s Cinespia film offerings include something for film freaks of every stripe. Screened primarily the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, they include young vampires, a couple of female pals gone rogue, and three seminal films that spawned several sequels. And, what more fitting setting for watching movie stars than in the final resting place of much of  Hollywood’s royalty of the past, such as Cecil B. DeMille, Douglas Fairbanks, Jayne Mansfield, and many more of the industry’s greatest stars.

July screenings include “The Graduate,” one of the most ground-breaking films of the 1960s, “The Lost Boys,” a unique twist in vampire movies, the funny yet tragic “Thelma and Louise,” and the first of their kind: the on-the-edge-of-your-seat adventure “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the hilarious stoner comedy “Friday,” and the lovable 1960s spy spoof “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.” Be sure to get there early with your picnic, blankets, and lawn chairs for prime seating and pre-screening DJ sets, dance parties, and the resultant sleepovers!
