The Last Picture Shows

As summer fades away, many outdoor film-screening venues begin wrapping up the season. Listed here are a few must-see films to watch, or re-watch, and don’t forget to bring a blanket and your favorite snacks. First, don’t miss one of the best film classics of all time, when Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery presents, “All About Eve” on September 14. And, get your Can Can on September 21 with the showing of “Moulin Rouge,” followed by fireworks. Next, Eat|See|Hear will screen the perennial favorite, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” on September 14 at Centennial Square at Pasadena City Hall.

Your furry friends are welcome and part of the proceeds will benefit Best Friends Animal Society. Lastly, enjoy breathtaking city views from the top level of the parking garage at The Grove along with your movie, when their pop-up drive-in theater will show “Iron Man” on September 25. Don’t want to drive? Plush seating is available for those who Uber or take other forms of transportation. Complimentary popcorn and soda is yours for the asking, or do the park-and-dine order thing with several delicious options, including sushi and umami burgers!
